TAMPA, Fla. (May 1999) WestShore Plaza management announced today an agreement with American Multi-Cinema Inc. (AMC), the largest operating subsidiary of AMC Entertainment Inc. (AMEX: AEN), to build a new state-of-the-art 60,000-square-foot movie theatre at WestShore Plaza in Tampa.

Construction on the 14-screen, 2,800-seat theatre is scheduled to began in spring 1999 and will open in November 2000. As Tampa Bay’s most centrally located theatre, AMC WestShore Plaza 14 will feature amenities such as the exclusive LoveSeat™ style stadium seating, offering more legroom and arm rests than traditional theatre seating; a Sony Dynamic Digital Sound System™ (SDDS), a High Impact Theatre System (HITS™), providing high-quality listening devices for the hearing impaired; and advance credit card ticket sales. The theater also will feature a cappuccino bar, as well as wine and beer service.

"We're pleased to partner with WestShore Plaza, one of Florida's premier retail destinations, to bring this state-of-the-art movie venue to south Tampa," said Rolando B. Rodriguez, senior vice president, AMC South Division. " WestShore Plaza's customers have communicated a desire for additional entertainment outlets in the area, and we plan to offer them an exciting new source for family fun."

In addition to the AMC theatre, WestShore is planning to add two restaurants unique to Tampa, as well as 25 new specialty shops. WestShore's 120,000-square-foot expansion will feature the same Mediterranean village-style atmosphere to maintain the mall's unique and distinctive flavor.

"WestShore Plaza is a Tampa Bay original, and we're always looking for new ways to meet the needs of our customers," said Kimberly Mathews, marketing director for WestShore Plaza. "Our expansion efforts, including the edition of state-of-the-art AMC movie theatres, will enhance and complement the retail and entertainment choices currently available to Tampa Bay."
